WORLD WAR I

Commemoration of the Centenary of the end of World war One

November 2018

BHTA is organising three major free events for which publicity will start in October:

Friday 9th and Saturday 10th November there will be an Exhibition about the part Bingham men played in WW1 together with displays of artefacts relating to the period.

Friday evening, 9th November, a concert “Looking Back” featuring the Bridge Singers, a string quartet and the Cranmer Company of Singers together with appropriate readings.

Saturday evening, 10th November, a concert “Looking Forward” featuring The Stormy Weather Boys, the Vale Voices and the Toot Hill School Big Band together with appropriate readings. The Bingham School of dance will demonstrate the Charleston.

We are seeking volunteers to help at these events:

We need people to:

  • Help put up the exhibition on Thursday November 8th - evening
  • Take down the exhibition on Saturday November 10th - late afternoon after 4pm
  • Stewards all day on the 9th and 10th - 1 or 2hr slots between 9.15am and 5pm on Friday, 9.15am and 4pm Saturday
  • Ushers on 9th and 10th for the evening concerts
  • Catering crew (making tea and coffee) Friday lunchtime and Saturday evening

If you would like to help please contact us via indicating times you could be available. We will then get in touch.
