Roll of Honour

AVL
RFA; served on the Western Front

Address: Chapel Lane; Gnr 18 Div, 337 Brigade, RFA
Invasion zone web site The brigade began the Great War as 2/3rd Home Counties Brigade, RFA TF and was stationed in the UK. In 1916 it became 337 Brigade, RFA TF in the 67th Division and served with that division in the UK until November 1917. On 19 Nov 1917, 337th Brigade left the 67th Division in the UK and went to Mesopotamia where it joined the 18th Indian Division in February 1918 and served with it until the end of the war. As the RoH says he served on the Wester Front, he probably transferred to the Northumberland Fusiliers before the RFA brigade went to Mesopotamia. NF battalions fought at Passchendaele in 1917.
