In spite of being gassed and hospitalised, Samuel signed to say he did not claim disability because of his war service. He was issued with the standard Protection certificate for the Labour Exchange

Images 7 and 8

Samuel sent a short note to the RGA Records office to advise them of his new address “if you are thinking of sending any medals at any time”. It was received on 22nd February 1920. This was duly noted and passed on.
