George Dunsmore is listed as a passenger on SS Compania from Liverpool to New York. He arrived on December 3rd 1910 and his home was entered as Ilkeston and his occupation labourer. Stated age 22 yrs 7 months. His final destination was Denver, Colorado. His father’s name was given as Joseph of Spring Gardens, Bingham.

1914 George took out America citizenship in New York on 2nd June 1913. His address was 3763 Williams Street, Colorado.
On the form he says he arrived in New York on the SS Caronia on June 22 1913. Does this indicate he returned to the UK after his emigration in 1910? He was accompanied on this return trip by his brother William. William then lived in High Street, Denver, a 20 minute walk from George in Clayton Street.

George’s mother was Zachariah’s sister (1881 census, Bottesford). Zachariah had emigrated on the SS Scythia as an unmarried bricklayer in 1883. He was a single man in the 1910 census, a “roomer” (lodger) in Denver and working in a flour mill.
1925 Zach H Goodson died, buried in Fairmount Cemetery, Denver County  
1930 USA Census Living in Denver, Colorado with:

Engine Stripper, Railroad George married his uncle’s widow. They owned their own home, worth $3000
1940 USA Census Living in 1B Ben Bolt Lane, Northeast Arvada, Jefferson, Colorado, Colorado with:

Machinist They are both listed in telephone directories for various addresses in Denver until 1959
