Grantham Journal 1916 On 8th April 1916 the newspaper published a report of a tribunal at the Shire Hall in Nottingham:
“The military representative appealed against the granting by the Bingham tribunal of a month’s exemption (by which he meant three) to Thomas E Little, an unattested shoemaker and auxiliary postman on the ground that the postponement was not justified. The Post Office made no claim to retain his services. The Tribunal altered the certificate by giving one day, from March13th, which means the period will expire on May 13th.
