On Bingham when it was a village:

  • Well where I live, we actually had a farmyard across the road, so we often heard the cows in the morning. We used to use that as like a staging post before they took the cattle down to the station and on to Nottingham Market. It was quite nice to have the farmyard across the road, but it’s even nicer now, because it has become the Bowls Club and they have a nice bar there.

On bell ringing:

  • It is mentally stimulating to start with. It is not so physically tiring as a lot of people think it is. Once you get into the swing of it, it is not too bad at all. There is the social side of it as well, which is quite nice.
