On the game of bowls:
- I bought a pair of second hand woods, lignums, they cost me £1, which was quite dear. I played with those for 40 years actually, but they wouldn't stamp a pair, so when the date expired, unfortunately I had to change to these black things which I don't like much. I had 30 years playing well and a few years playing mediocre and now I don't play much at all. But I have enjoyed what I have.
